Final Compilation & Reflection
Working on these projects was both challenging and rewarding. From creating characters using predefined shapes in Adobe Illustrator to designing posters and comics, each task pushed me to develop new skills and explore creative solutions. The comic project, in particular, was daunting as I had no prior experience and had to work with a horror theme. However, these experiences helped me grow creatively, sharpened my technical abilities, and taught me to appreciate the value of stepping out of my comfort zone.
Observations
I observed that proper organization, such as layering in Illustrator, is essential for efficient workflows, especially when creating detailed designs. Color choices also play an important role in making designs visually appealing and engaging. In storytelling through comics, I noticed the importance of planning with references and sketches, as well as techniques like managing transitions and framing scenes. Matching text with images is important in poster design to deliver a clear message. Exploring references, whether for characters or concepts, was also very useful during the process.
Findings
I learned that even simple shapes can be used creatively to various characters, showing how much can be done with limitations. My skills in Illustrator and Photoshop improved a lot through practice and watching tutorial videos. Creating the comic showed me how much work goes into telling a story through pictures, like choosing the right colors and making smooth transitions. I also realized how important it is to manage time well to finish each project by the deadline.
