TASK 1: LALIN EDITING

LALIN

Instructions Given: Edit to 35 seconds sharp. Document the process under the Exercises section. Document process under Exercises section.

First, I imported all the clips and trimmed them to remove any unwanted parts. I then applied default transitions between clips to create smooth fade-in and fade-out effects.

Then I added a chat bubble pop-up and synced a ringtone sound effect and match it with the moments in the video.

I used adjustment layers for color correction and color grading to improve the overall visual quality.

Behind the scene:
Figure 2.3: Behind The Scene

First, I imported all the video clips into Adobe Premiere Pro and arranged them in sequence. I also added the recorded audio and synchronized it with the video shots. After syncing, I muted the original audio from the video clips.

Next, I trimmed the video as needed, keeping in mind that this was intended to be a trailer. I then added text and visual effects to give it a dynamic, cinematic feel.

Finally, I applied color correction and color grading based on the specific needs of each scene, as the look varied depending on the shot. I followed the instructed variations, which included:
1. Teal & Orange
2. Bluish (cold tone)
3. Greenish (cold tone)
4. Brownish (warm tone)
5. Desaturation (50%–70%)
6. Black & White with high contrast

These adjustments were made to enhance the overall visual quality and match the intended mood of each scene.

REFLECTION

From this assignment, I gained valuable new experiences, especially since it was a shooting project, which was a completely new area for me. Working on the trailer taught me the importance of proper planning and how crucial it is to divide tasks effectively among team members. I also learned how to manage time efficiently and how to work collaboratively in a group setting.

One of the biggest takeaways for me was realizing that having good design skills alone isn't enough. Teamwork, communication, and the ability to coordinate with others are just as important in bringing a creative project to life. I discovered how essential it is to listen, share ideas, and solve problems together as a team.

Another new skill I picked up during this assignment was video editing. Although I was unfamiliar with it at first, I found myself enjoying the process of putting everything together, from raw footage to the final cut. Overall, I truly enjoyed this task. It challenged me in new ways and helped me grow both creatively and professionally.
